I'm drawn to the moments that feel real before they feel perfect - the movement, the anticipation, and the fleeting in-between moments that often become the most meaningful with time. My approach blends candid storytelling with an editorial eye to create imagery that feels timeless, emotional, and deeply personal.
Documenting love stories, traveling the world, and romanticizing the beauty found in everyday life have shaped so much of who I am. I view your story as something deeply personal and entirely your own - deserving to be preserved with honesty, artistry, and intention in a way that still feels meaningful decades from now.
I've spent years studying people through psychology, travel, observation, and the countless connections photography has brought into my life. I'm endlessly fascinated by human emotion, connection, and the subtle things that make people who they are. That perspective shapes the way I photograph. I want to know what makes you laugh, what makes you feel most like yourself, and how your relationship exists naturally together so the imagery we create never feels stiff or performative, but emotional, effortless, and unmistakably you.
Film has always felt closer to memory for me. The texture, softness, grain, and movement create something emotional in a way digital alone often can't replicate. I photograph most weddings and sessions using both digital and film photography, blending the timeless feeling of analog imagery with the versatility of digital storytelling to create galleries that feel layered, nostalgic, and deeply human.
Our relationship means a whole lot to me. Each love story is completely unique, and I truly want to get to know the two of you - how you met, what you love, what makes you laugh, cry, and squirm with excitement. Knowing you helps me to produce photographs that represent you at your core. When you choose to work with me, I am completely invested in you and your story. You'll have me in your corner throughout the planning process, providing guides, tips, and as many creative planning calls as you'd like.
For the majority of your day, I take a documentary approach. This means that I observe and photograph moments exactly as they unfold, telling a truthful, authentic story. Weddings are full of so many complex human emotions that deserve to be documented in their rawest form. Think your dad wiping away tears that you might not have seen for decades, or your grandmother boogying it up on the dance floor. Intimate, small glances between you and your lover throughout the day. There are, however, certain aspects of the day in which an editorial approach and creative direction can help craft the narrative. For most of my couples, this includes carefully crafted detail photos, and minor direction during the romantic portraits.
DIGITAL + FILM
DOCUMENTARY FOCUSED, WITH AN EDITORIAL EYE
CONNECTION
Photography started as a way for me to hold onto moments I never wanted to forget. At thirteen, I carried my camera everywhere - documenting everyday life, movement, friendships, music, and the feeling of a moment before I even fully understood why it mattered so much to me.
My early career photographing bands and music festivals across the West Coast taught me how to anticipate emotion and find beauty within movement, energy, and imperfection. Later, boudoir photography deepened my understanding of human connection in an entirely different way - teaching me how to create an environment where people feel comfortable enough to truly express themselves.
Eventually, weddings became the space where everything naturally came together: artistry, emotion, storytelling, human connection, and the privilege of documenting people exactly as they are.
That perspective continues to shape the way I photograph today - creating imagery that feels honest, intentional, and deeply personal long after the day itself has passed.
My work blends documentary storytelling with an editorial perspective - preserving the emotion, movement, and atmosphere of your day in a way that feels intentional and deeply honest. I'll guide you when needed, step back when the moment calls for it, and create space for your story to unfold naturally without constantly interrupting it. The result is imagery that feels emotional, cinematic, and genuinely you.

"Where do I even begin? Our experience having Kolby as our engagement photographer was absolutely incredible. My fiancé and I had never done professional photos before so we went into the experience being slightly nervous and not knowing what to expect. When we expressed this to Kolby, she was able to guide the session in a way that made us both so comfortable and relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She was extremely timely when sending us our gallery back as well. We are seriously so impressed and in love with how our photos turned out and we cannot wait for Kolby to photograph our wedding next August!!"
