Some wedding days feel like they belong exactly where they’re celebrated. Delicate white tulips, heirloom-inspired details, an effortlessly elegant gown, and one of the sweetest couples. Every part of this California Coast wedding felt intentional and timeless while still embracing the relaxed beauty Northern California is known for.

Their intimate wedding ceremony took place at a picturesque Airbnb nestled among the towering redwoods, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. Afterward, we spent time exploring the property, slowing down, and creating timeless portraits that felt both elegant and effortless. Then, as the celebration continued, we made our way to the coast.

One of the best parts about getting married in Arcata is that you’re never far from the ocean. Eventually, we finished the day with portraits along the Northern California coastline. The bright blue sky and rolling waves created an entirely different atmosphere. The wind caught her veil perfectly. They kicked off their shoes, and it felt like the rest of the world disappeared for a bit. Those beach portraits added such a fun, editorial ending to an untraditional wedding day I will never forget.

Along the way, I incorporated daytime flash, 35mm film, and even shot part of the day on my vintage Super 8 camera.
